One common reason for complaints in the neck and shoulder area and associated headaches through to migraine may be a faulty bite or a malocclusion.
The pain is caused by overloading the muscles of mastication, which are directly related to the neck and shoulder muscles, by grinding or clenching. This is a normal reaction of the body to reduce stress, especially during the night hours.
The aim of the Jig-splint is to relax the masticatory muscles during these hours and to avoid a grinding / clenching. This is achieved through a bite in the area of the front teeth. Therefore less pressure in the muscles of mastication can be generated.
The entire neck-jaw-area relaxes and the immediate relief of the muscles can be felt.
